I have hard resets, similar to hitting the Reset-Button. Which means I get no log or trace of any kind and I am totally clueless where/how to search. I replaced a Geforce 770 with a MSI RX 570 in the hope of better support for a multi-monitor setup. Turns aut the Card will expose the above issue when gaming (so far played only X-Com2). xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu is version 18.1.0, kernel is 4.19.0-1-amd64 (had same issue with 4.18) - The PSU is a Seasonic Platinum 400 Fanless, more than enough to drive the card and the max ~100W Cpu. I replaced a Geforce 770, which should have a higher peak without issues. - Xcom2 crashes after ~5 to 30minutes. I can play longer if I limit the card to 80 W. echo 80000000 > /sys/class/drm/card0/device/hwmon/hwmon2/power1_cap - The system does not cause any troubles with Windows 10, even if both CPU and GPU are tortured. - I did sample the temperature berofe the crash, it was below 70degrees GPU and below 60 on GPU. (far from any BIOS triggers)
Please attach your xorg log and dmesg output. What version of mesa are you using?

I am running Wayland, so no xorg log? Anyway, only sensible thing I could come up with, is if the card is pulling to much Power over the PCIe connector instead of the extra Plug. ii libegl-mesa0:amd64 18.2.8-2 amd64 free implementation of the EGL API -- Mesa vendor library un libegl1-mesa <none> <none> (no description available) ii libgl1-mesa-dri:amd64 18.2.8-2 amd64 free implementation of the OpenGL API -- DRI modules ii libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 18.2.8-2 i386 free implementation of the OpenGL API -- DRI modules ii libgl1-mesa-glx:amd64 18.2.8-2 amd64 transitional dummy package un libgl1-mesa-swx11 <none> <none> (no description available) ii libglapi-mesa:amd64 18.2.8-2 amd64 free implementation of the GL API -- shared library ii libglapi-mesa:i386 18.2.8-2 i386 free implementation of the GL API -- shared library un libgles2-mesa <none> <none> (no description available) ii libglu1-mesa:amd64 9.0.0-2.1 amd64 Mesa OpenGL utility library (GLU) ii libglu1-mesa:i386 9.0.0-2.1 i386 Mesa OpenGL utility library (GLU) ii libglx-mesa0:amd64 18.2.8-2 amd64 free implementation of the OpenGL API -- GLX vendor library ii libglx-mesa0:i386 18.2.8-2 i386 free implementation of the OpenGL API -- GLX vendor library ii libosmesa6:amd64 18.2.8-2 amd64 Mesa Off-screen rendering extension ii libosmesa6:i386 18.2.8-2 i386 Mesa Off-screen rendering extension un libwayland-egl1-mesa <none> <none> (no description available) ii mesa-utils 8.4.0-1+b1 amd64 Miscellaneous Mesa GL utilities ii mesa-va-drivers:amd64 18.2.8-2 amd64 Mesa VA-API video acceleration drivers ii mesa-va-drivers:i386 18.2.8-2 i386 Mesa VA-API video acceleration drivers ii mesa-vdpau-drivers:i386 18.2.8-2 i386 Mesa VDPAU video acceleration drivers un mesag3 <none> <none> (no description available) un xlibmesa3 <none> <none> (no description available) ii libegl-mesa0:amd64 18.2.8-2 amd64 free implementation of the EGL API -- Mesa vendor library ii libgl1-mesa-dri:amd64 18.2.8-2 amd64 free implementation of the OpenGL API -- DRI modules ii libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 18.2.8-2 i386 free implementation of the OpenGL API -- DRI modules ii libgl1-mesa-glx:amd64 18.2.8-2 amd64 transitional dummy package ii libglapi-mesa:amd64 18.2.8-2 amd64 free implementation of the GL API -- shared library ii libglapi-mesa:i386 18.2.8-2 i386 free implementation of the GL API -- shared library ii libglu1-mesa:amd64 9.0.0-2.1 amd64 Mesa OpenGL utility library (GLU) ii libglu1-mesa:i386 9.0.0-2.1 i386 Mesa OpenGL utility library (GLU) ii libglx-mesa0:amd64 18.2.8-2 amd64 free implementation of the OpenGL API -- GLX vendor library ii libglx-mesa0:i386 18.2.8-2 i386 free implementation of the OpenGL API -- GLX vendor library ii libosmesa6:amd64 18.2.8-2 amd64 Mesa Off-screen rendering extension ii libosmesa6:i386 18.2.8-2 i386 Mesa Off-screen rendering extension ii mesa-utils 8.4.0-1+b1 amd64 Miscellaneous Mesa GL utilities ii mesa-va-drivers:amd64 18.2.8-2 amd64 Mesa VA-API video acceleration drivers ii mesa-va-drivers:i386 18.2.8-2 i386 Mesa VA-API video acceleration drivers ii mesa-vdpau-drivers:i386 18.2.8-2 i386 Mesa VDPAU video acceleration drivers ii xwayland 2:1.20.3-1 amd64 Xwayland X server ii xorg 1:7.7+19 amd64 X.Org X Window System ii xorg-docs-core 1:1.7.1-1.1 all Core documentation for the X.org X Window System ii xserver-xorg 1:7.7+19 amd64 X.Org X server ii xserver-xorg-core 2:1.20.3-1 amd64 Xorg X server - core server ii xserver-xorg-input-all 1:7.7+19 amd64 X.Org X server -- input driver metapackage ii xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.10.6-1 amd64 X.Org X server -- evdev input driver ii xserver-xorg-input-libinput 0.28.1-1 amd64 X.Org X server -- libinput input driver ii xserver-xorg-input-mouse 1:1.9.3-1 amd64 X.Org X server -- mouse input driver ii xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.9.1-1 amd64 Synaptics TouchPad driver for X.Org server ii xserver-xorg-input-wacom 0.34.99.1-1 amd64 X.Org X server -- Wacom input driver ii xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu 18.1.0-1 amd64 X.Org X server -- AMDGPU display driver ii xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.15-3 amd64 X.Org X server -- Nouveau display driver ii xserver-xorg-video-radeon 1:18.1.0-1 amd64 X.Org X server -- AMD/ATI Radeon display driver
