Hit every 2 weeks. Affects KBL and now ICL too.

User impact: we are not able to check multiple planes work with the Chamelium board. I believe this is a test issue, picking an invalid configuration by mistake.

I'd suggest doing an atomic TEST_ONLY commit before the actual commit (and skip/reroll dice on EINVAL).

@Jyoti, Here is the latest log
https://intel-gfx-ci.01.org/tree/drm-tip/drmtip_368/fi-icl-u2/igt@kms_chamelium@hdmi-cmp-planes-random.html

You can always find the latest logs from CI bug log.
Comment 5 Jyoti Yadav 2019-09-18 10:17:25 UTC
After checking dmesg logs, found that number of scalers requested are greater than the total number of scalers.

[drm:intel_atomic_setup_scalers [i915]] Too many scaling requests 3 > 2
Above function is returning -EINVAL .

Comment 10 Kunal Joshi 2019-09-27 05:53:37 UTC
I tested kms_chamelium subtest hdmi-cmp-planes-random and it is executing successfully on both IceLake and KabyLake.

On IceLake test is skipped sometimes but not able to reproduce.Failed assertion: ret == 0.

Issue seems to be with .igtrc files or chamelium dependencies not installed.

I have attached the logs.
