Hi there, AMD Radeon RX 480. Linux 5.0.13 Full HD screen with hdmi Archlinux KDE Xorg It's a problem I had noticed for some time, but couldn't figure out what was triggering it. Sometimes after screen mode change there is random green lines appearing on the screen (random location, but about one third of the bottom of the screen). It seems i can replicate it on my system by changing the resolution in the system settings from 1920x1080 to 1280x1024. When going back to full hd, the green lines sometimes remain. Shutting down the screen and resuming it helps (but if still at 1280x1024, the lines remain). The random line disappear when the screen doesn't refresh (cursor not moving, nothing drawing on the background). No particular message appear in the dmesg after changing resolution. I assume this is not enough, please indicate me what would help.
Can you get a picture or video of the lines? Please attach your dmesg output and xorg log (if using X).
Yes sure, Here is a video: http://dev.ipol.im/~adavy/green_lines.mp4
Created attachment 144181 [details] dmesg (after capturing the issue)
Created attachment 144182 [details] Xorg log (after having the issue)
Does this also happen with amdgpu.dc=0?
amdgpu.dc=0 makes things worse. http://dev.ipol.im/~adavy/green_lines2.mp4 As you can see, instead of a few green lines, there are instead a few full bad frames.
Same issue on Radeon RX 580 Linux 5.2.0-2-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.2.9-1 (2019-08-18) Actual Debian Sid X.Org X Server 1.20.4, amdgpu 19.0.1 Openbox + compton Killing compton does not help.
