Description Eric Anholt 2004-08-17 18:27:44 UTC
http://www.x.org/XOrg_Foundation_Join_List.tpl

Looks like all of the xorg* lists at
http://www.x.org/XOrg_Foundation_Join_OpenLists.html are this way.

There's no need for people to associate usernames (which you use for *what*
exactly?) with email addresses. And Companies. This was noticed by someone who
uses a 1-email-per-mailinglist system and got really tired of typing his name.
Couldn't we just use a mailman system?
Comment 1 Mike A. Harris 2004-08-25 16:09:50 UTC
I agree. It would probably just be easiest to move the rest of the X.org
mailing lists directly to the freedesktop.org server. The lists could
still have the x.org hostnames I believe. For mailing lists, anything that
isn't pronounced "GNU mailman" is frustrating to use as a user, frustrating
to admin as an admin, and just plain confusing nowadays.
Comment 2 Daniel Stone 2004-09-27 05:24:12 UTC
... nothing we can do about it, really. I agree it's total arse, and we should
probably swallow the rest of the lists, but take it up with X.Org.
