When using the driver on Fedora 7 without 3d using the official packages from red -hat leads me to this error.

This could be due to a NVWaitVSync() call.
Try commenting out src/nv_video.c:453 (the call to NVWaitVSync(pScrn) and see if it helps.

The fedora packages are known to be broken. Please test with latest git.
