Description Jack Malmostoso 2007-07-17 11:25:54 UTC
Hi there,

I just installed Debian AMD64 on my new laptop based on the Santa Rosa platform with the GMA965/X3100 video card.
I could install the system using the vesa driver (with the 915resolution utility I could use the native 1280x800 resolution without problems) and then I switched to the intel driver in order to have 3D acceleration.

3D works just fine with Mesa 7.0 (Ubuntu Gutsy packages), Compiz runs smoothly, games run quickly enough.

I have a problem with video playback: if I enable XV this is what I observe in mplayer:

jack@vasquez:~$ mplayer The\ Who\ -\ Who\ Are\ You.mpg

And so on forever until I stop playing the file. I can hear the sound but no video is displayed. The same file without XV works just fine.

Thanks for any help you can give!
