Description Francis Stevens 2004-08-25 02:33:06 UTC
I have a machine running Fedora Core 2, if I execute the following command from
another machine:-

nmap 10.249.122.238

where 10.249.122.238 is the IP address of the FC2 machine, the Xserver on the
FC2 machine crashes. It either freezes the mouse and keyboard or crashes
completely back to a console login. The machine is still running, I can ssh into
it and restart the Xserver.

nmap version used: 2.54BETA22

Comment 1 Francis Stevens 2004-10-14 08:25:29 UTC
I have just run a "yum update" on the FC2 machine, which has updated the xorg
installation and the reported behaviour no longer happens.

One of the recent security fixes may have fixed this issue by
coincidence perhaps. I'll close it as "FIXED" for now, but
if the problem recurs, please reopen this bug for tracking.
