I am curious of the situation regarding Xv support within the framebuffer driver. My situation is that I have an accelerated framebuffer available (and am in the process of trying to patch/build xdirectfb for xorg-server 1.3.x.x ) Is Xv already in the xorg fbdev driver, planned, never? I realise that a basic vesa kernel framebuffer is probably not capable of supporting this, but given the increasing number of accelerated kernel drivers.. If not, is xdirectfb my only other option?

The kernel fbdev userspace API doesn't expose any generic acceleration interface.
