i have the mb890 motherboard (http://www.ibase-i.com.tw/mb890.htm). which has an analog vga and a dvi port. a monitor connected using analog will work fine. but when i connect a monitor using dvi the image will be squeezed to the left part of the monitor, the rest of the monitor will show black. the system works fine. when i take a screenshot using gnome printscreen the image will show a correct image. i am using ubuntu 7.04 which is using xorg 7.2 i will attach my xorg.conf and log file shortly

Would you please try the latest driver to see if the problem is fixed? Thanks, Hong
i will try this weekend, sorry i don't have much time, it might take longer.
Lesmana, any update?
i finally managed to compile the latest intel driver. sorry for the delay, i had to learn a lot of stuff. i downloaded the latest intel driver (as of 2007-01-01) from the freedesktop server using the commands as explained here at the very bottom: http://www.x.org/wiki/CompileXserverManually every other dependency and dev package are installed from the ubuntu 7.10 repositories. according to the logs the X version is 1.3.0 and the old intel driver version is 1.7.4. the new intel driver which i compiled is version 2.2.0. the latest driver seem to work as expected, i get a correct image using analog dvi. but there are some other "bugs" now: 1. with the monitor connected using analog gdm starts at 1600x1200, using dvi gdm starts at 1024x768. after login i can set my desktop resolution to 1600x1200 without problems. i don't know where to set the resolution for gdm. 2. when switching to a virtual terminal (ctrl+alt+f1) and then back to x (ctrl+alt+f7) it will only show a blinking cursor in the top left. i can "fix" this by restarting gdm. this happens using analog and dvi. 3. direct rendering does not work according to glxinfo should i post new bugs for each of the problem? i have saved 4 xorg logs 1. old driver using analog 2. new driver using analog 3. old driver using dvi 4. new driver using dvi should i upload all 4 of them?
Lesmana, I think for this bug - no native modes on DVI outputs should mark as resolved. For issue# 2 and 3, would you please open new bug for each of them? Then please attach the log files you've saved. Thanks!
