Two new keysyms for dead psili and dasia have been defined, in xproto-7.0.11 - see bug #9306. They should be used instead of dead_horn/ogonek. I wonder how to ensure that, if the patch is applied, subsequent releases of xkeyboard-config are only used by systems that also have xproto >= 7.0.11?

Well, your patch makes sense. But I am not sure I could apply it now. I'll postpone it - till we'll get stable release with these new keysyms. Is it reasonable?
It makes sense to get the compose files for en_US and el_GR in shape first and the changes committed quite more work . We can put a dependency of this bug on bug 11930.
I just pushed the Compose.pre file updates to use dead_psili and dead_dasia (in addition to the current two options for backwards compatability) to git. They’ll be in the next version of libX11 released from git master. (I don’t know how long until that’ll happen, though.)
Created attachment 13774 [details] [review] Patch to symbols/gr to use dead_psili/dasia Updated patch after the changes of Athanasios to clean-up the Greek keyboard layout. I think we can now apply the patch since Xorg has added dead_psili and dead_dasia (bug 9306).
Thanks, committed;)
