Hi, I'm currently running hal 0.5.10 (package from Hardy minus the Debian/Ubuntu patches) on my Kubuntu Gutsy box on Linux 2.6.24-rc3. It looks like the list of available cpufreq governors is not correctly reported anymore. kde-guidance-powermanager does not give me the option to select a governor anymore. Additionally, it will show three instead of two battery slots with the first and the last batteries having identical charging levels. I'm using a HP 6510b Laptop which is based on Intel's Santa Rosa platform. This used to work correctly with hal 0.5.9 (from Ubuntu). Logs are attached as per the instructions. I'll provide more logs on request. I'd be glad if someone could talk a look at this issue. In the meantime, I'll just go back to 0.5.9 :)

I can't reproduce your report on HAL. You should check what this command prints as user: dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.freedesktop.Hal /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.CPUFreq.GetCPUFreqAvailableGovernors If it doesn't work, try also if it work as root and if hald-addon-cpufreq is running. It's maybe a permission issue with PolicyKit, DBus or also ConsoleKit. You maybe should better report it to your distribution than to HAL bugzilla.
PING!
