Description Nolan Eakins 2004-09-13 22:20:58 UTC
KDE's window manager won't raise windows if the focus follows the mouse and you
have to click to raise the window while xcompmgr is running.
Comment 1 Dan Doel 2004-09-23 00:26:07 UTC
I can't seem to reproduce this. Are you saying that auto-raise doesn't work
for you?

What version of xorg and xcompmgr are you running? If it's not the latest
xcompmgr, please update from cvs and report back if possible.

Thanks.

I'm using 6.8.0. The window won't raise if auto-raise is /not/ turned on, but
the focus still follows the mouse. When you click a mouse the window is not
raised if it has focus.
Comment 3 Dan Doel 2004-09-30 21:00:09 UTC
Are you sure you don't have "Click raise active window" off? It's an option a
little below the auto-raise option. I still can't seem to reproduce the
behavior you describe.

If that's not the issue, which version of xcompmgr are you using, and have you
tried the latest cvs version?
Comment 4 Nolan Eakins 2005-05-09 05:57:50 UTC
Ijust upgraded to XOrg 6.8.2. This problem still exists and can also be
exhibited under WindowMaker 0.90. I have the window focus set to follow the
mouse, but not auto-raise so I have to click to raise the window. When I click a
focused window to raise it it doesn't get raised. This problem is not exhibited
when I'm not using xcompmgr.

And should this be placed under the X server or left under xcompmgr? I don't
know if it's the composite extension or xcompmgr.
Comment 5 Shawn Starr 2005-10-27 20:15:10 UTC
KWin has xcomposite built in in more recent KDE versions you can turn this on
and off.

Have you tried Kwin's implementation of xcompmgr support?

There is no need for xcompmgr anymore if you have a newer KDE.
