i have no idea what hardware these two correspond to. i'm not even sure they have users anymore. i strongly suspect they should be deprecated in favor of the sun* drivers under the xfree86 DDX. sunLynx looks like a fairly trivial conversion, but sun might be harder.
If you're referring to the xc/programs/Xserver/hw/sun directory, it supports ancient framebuffers from Sun - from the README: Sun/2 bw2 cg2/3/5 Sun/3 bw2 cg2/3/4/5 Sun/4 bw2 cg2/4 SPARCstation cg3/6 Sun/386i mono color The only one of those I think I could even find hardware for would be the cg6 SBus card, and there's a newer driver for that under hw/xfree86/drivers/suncg6 already. The cg6 is the only one ever supported in a UltraSPARC series machine - the others were only supported in older machines (in some cases, much older as noted above). sunLynx appears to be a similar set of drivers for LynxOS on SPARC hardware, but I know nothing about that.

i would like to deprecate these entirely then. all the cards supported by these DDXes have counterparts in the xfree86 DDX.
BTW, as noted in bug 1134, the Xsun server which uses hw/sun no longer builds and is documented as deprecated.
These will not be incorporated in Xorg 7.0 - do they need to be removed from 6.9 as well, or is that good enough to close this bug?
not including them in 7.0 is good enough for me.
