Description bghfhfg 2004-09-15 17:13:38 UTC
I have a Tseng ET6000 PCI graphics card with 2304 KB of MDRAM (VRAM) and an
Envision EN-7100s monitor capable of 1280x1024 resolution attached to a P-IV
class PC running an AMD Athlon XP processor with Debian unstable and X.Org
release X11R6.8.0 compiled and installed from source. When I try to
set /etc/X11/XF86Config to have 24-bit color as the default, the X logs seem
fine, but the monitor displays "Input Not Supported".

please attach your X startup log.

also, your monitor may not be compatible with the mode timings selected by the
driver. you should probably google for the official specs for it, and make sure
the HorizSync and VertRefresh spec given in your config file matches the monitor
specs.

reporter: ping. have you resolved this issue?
Comment 3 Adam Jackson 2005-07-01 14:01:20 UTC
ping timeout. either DDC is broken for your card or monitor, or you set
HorizSync and VertRefresh to something outside what your monitor can do. either
way we don't have enough info to do anything with this bug, and it sounds more
like a configuration issue.

please reopen if you have more information.
