xorg log

symptoms: black screen. worked without randr12 enabled.
card is a geforce4 go 440 (device id 0179), panel is 17" 1440x900
xorg log and "bios" dump will be attached shortly

Try git... Stuart just committed some stuff which fixes a very similar card 
(with similar symptoms) on my Compaq Laptop.

Does text mode restore to correctly (or at all) on leaving X?
Does randr12 work on an external monitor?
