Description Christian Hesse 2004-10-06 05:58:00 UTC
When I switch from X to the consolte the display is corrupted very often.
Everything is moved to the left, so you can't see a number of characters von the
left. Last character on the right is repeated and fills the rest of the display.
The problem shows up with Samsung X10 XTC 1400 (nVidia Corporation NV17
[GeForce4 440 Go 64M] (rev a3)).

This also happens with the ATI proprietary drivers. In this case, the screen
stays in graphics mode so no text can be seen.

The 6.8 series seems to have lots of buggage.

Are you still experiencing the problem with a current version of xorg?
Comment 3 Christian Hesse 2006-03-14 09:27:41 UTC
Oh my god, this bug is still open...

No, I do not see these corruptions any more. I think they were gone after I
updated to X.org 6.8.x.

Chris
