the current type is "application/vnd.ms-word", according to http://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/application/msword it should be "application/msword". This break the nautilus icon for word files: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=153781
application/msword is defined to be an alias for application/vnd.ms-word, so I guess it should work, probably a gnome issue.
Yes, it is an alias, but first it is wrong that it is an alias (because the official type is /msword, not /vnd.ms-word), and second gnomevfs doesn't deal correctly with MIME aliases right now. It's been 3 monthes that I get: bee% gnome-open AVATAR-01.doc Erreur à l'affichage de l'URL : Il n'y a pas de commande d'action associée à cet emplacement. This really ought to be fixed, both in freedesktop and in gnomevfs.
I switched the main mime type and the alias in CVS, thanks for the report.
