Description Wizard 2008-06-20 05:19:47 UTC
Using DejaVu Sans v2.25 in Windows XP, the Greek bold capital letters Δ (delta) and Λ (lamda) are printed very smudged in the center, while they appear fine on screen. This is confirmed by two others.

Screenshot of bold capital lambda and capital delta

DejaVu Sans Bold letters U+0394, U+039B, U+1D759 and U+1D760 have bad hinting, resulting in the capital lambda and capital delta being distorted at larger sizes.

Attached screenshot of Windows 7's rendering.

Freetype 2.5.3 will behave identically to Windows 7. Older Freetype versions have a different distortion that also affects smaller sizes.

Thanks for the link, Jan! I'm really sorry this took so long, but it should be fixed now. Snapshots for testing will appear shortly at http://dejavu.sourceforge.net/snapshots/
