nv X log

I have tried the nouveau driver shipped with Fedora 9 (xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-0.0.10-2.20080408git0991281.fc9.ppc) on my Powerobook G4 12" (NV34M [GeForce FX Go5200]). X server starts up fine first time, but the machine locks up during a restart (or during boot when transitioning between rhgb and gdm). I have attached the X logs for the nv and nouveau drivers.

Please try with newer code -- http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/InstallNouveau describes how to acquire and build from git.

almost certainly due to using nvidiafb (or rivafb). Boot with video=ofonly.

danny

Yeah, video=ofonly has fixed the problem. However, the old nv dirver works fine with nvidiafb, so I believe nouveau should as well.

Actually, no. We don't want to support nvidiafb because it messes too far with the card state. So until we have a nouveaufb replacement, please use offb.
