Description Olivier Fourdan 2004-10-17 13:33:14 UTC
Hard to explain :)

Resizing a window offscreen with a compositing manager (either the automatic
compositor, xcompmgr or xfwm4 compositor) will cause the offscreen part of the
content of the window to be altetered.

The problem shows mostly with GTK apps, but with tohers too. It doesn't show
with Mozilla for example.

Simple test to reproduce:

1) Run xcompmgr (any mode, auto, server or client shadows)
2) Move a GTK window partly off screen to the right
3) resize it vertically
4) move it back on screen, the offscreen parts are all black now

Hope that all this make sense :)
