Description dirk westfal 2004-10-27 08:59:40 UTC
This has been tested on 10 different systems with tft and lcd monitors and 10
different graphic cards.

X -configure creates a xorg.conf with the following monitor section:

Section "Monitor"
...
HorizSync 31.0 - 60.0
HorizSync 14121.0 - 0.0
VertRefresh 60.0 - 0.0
..

The actual values differ, but the zero - values are nearly always there.
As a result the X server refuses to start.

System: fedora core 2

I found that the old xf86 behaved the same way, so i think this isn`t a
redhat/fedora problem and needs to be fixed upstream.

Please contact me if more information is needed.
Thanks a lot !

This was fixed in Xorg 6.8.2.
