Hej,

although the G4 fax format is not so commonly used as the G3 fax format, there should be a mimetype for it, since the G3 and G4 format can not be differed by their content (no magic bytes :().
The extension of the G4 fax format is .g4/.G4, the mimetype could be image/fax-g4.

More information can be found here http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/0,,sid9_gci827309,00.html and when googleing for it ;)

Ciao,
Tobias

Do you have example files? What are G4 fax files used by on a system?

G4 is a similar format as G3, so it is used by different fax software
as storage format.
