Description Bruce H. McIntosh 2004-11-02 06:14:40 UTC
System: XP1800,512MB,GeForce4 MX440, Voodoo3 3000, Permedia2, Slackware 9.1,
2.6.9 kernel, Dropline Gnome 2.8 w/ Xorg 6.8.1, xinerama, vesafb running on GF4

Attempting to hotkey to console vtys causes the NV screen to lose hsync, both
other screens to lock, and the X server to hang. Occasionally recovery is
possible by ssh-ing to the box and doing a kill -1 on gdm. This condition
occurs with kernels 2.6.6 and 2.6.9, with or without a framebuffer console. It
did not occur with Xorg 6.7.

Note that the problem also occurs with or without Xinerama.
Comment 2 Bruce H. McIntosh 2005-03-15 13:51:40 UTC
I've since upgraded the system to xorg 6.8.2. Preliminary indications are that
hotkeying to text consoles works. Will have to reconfigure system sometime in
the next few days to use a framebuffer console and see if hotkey works under
that circumstance.

reported as working. please reopen if this is still an issue.
