Description Vedran Ljubovic 2004-11-11 08:19:41 UTC
Locale for Bosnian language (bs), Bosnia and Herzegovina (BA) is presently not
supported in Xorg. Please add support for this locale.

Patch to compose.dir, locale.alias and locale.dir

I'm copying this patch from our project, it's not perfect... (probably an older
version of Xorg?) but it should at least give an idea what needs to be done.
Contact me if you need more info.

Can you check whether the patch is OK for you, please ?

I think bs_BA is being used in glibc as a locale name and so it might need to be
supported and in that context, the patchs look okay to me.

At the same time though, I'm not quite certain but wouldn't the locale name more
correct if we use "sh_BA" not "bs_BA"? I don't see "bs" two-letter language code
from ISO 639 but "sh" as the language code:

    scr sh Serbo-Croatian

Hello,
According to the Library of Congress:
http://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/
There is Bosnian language listed along with 639-1 code "bs" and 639-2 code
"bos".

"This is the official site of the ISO 639-2 Registration Authority and thus is
the only one authorized by ISO."

I guess that the version of ISO 639 that you are using is outdated. Codes for
Bosnian were included in the mid 1990ies.

Helllo Vedran,

Sorry, you're correct that I was looking at an older list of ISO 639.
The bs_BA is the correct locale name and there is no need to add sh_BA.

Patch for 2005-01-15-trunk

Patch for commit to Xorg trunk (incl. Changelog and a minor correction to the
XpConfig link table which should include the aliases, too).
