"make clean" in shared-mime-info deletes freedesktop.org.xml, which "make"
cannot regenerate. (You have to "cvs up" to get it back.)

OK, the problem is that the intltool files were listed in CLEANFILES
instead of DISTCLEANFILES, so "make clean" would delete them, making it
impossible to regenerate freedesktop.xml from freedesktop.xml.in. Patch
attached.
