I setup a new account for my grand'ma today and telepathy-butterfly failed to connect to her brand new (contact-less) account.  There were no error messages, just a endlessly spinning foot (lol).

After adding one contact with Amsn, I was able to connect with Empathy.

I confirm the same problem here too multiple times.

telepathy-butterfly release: 0.3.2
pymsn release: 0.3.3

After adding contacts with another client such as pidgin, telepathy-butterfly is able to connect.
