I hoping to take over as the primary maintainer of libdmapsharing. This library implements the client and server sides to DMAP, DAAP and DPAP, the protocols used by iTunes and iPhoto to share media across a network. I am trying to determine where the best place for this project is (if they'll have me). The libdmapsharing library is GObject-based. Examples of the applications that could make use of it are rhythmbox and gthumb. Would freedesktop.org be a good fit for libdmapsharing? Or would it be more appropriate to ask the GNOME project to host it?
I am now maintaining libdmapsharing (http://sourceforge.net/projects/libdmapsharing). I have added server-side support for the DAAP and DPAP protocols. I'd like to move development of libdmapsharing to freedesktop.org.
I'm trying to get libdmapsharing into the GNOME project instead.
