After updating with an unmodified xorg.conf from xorg-1.4.2/radeonhd-1.2.2 to xorg-1.5.3 and later xorg-1.5.99.33 / radeon-1.2.4 (all rpm packages of Mandriva Cooker) I see heavy cpu utilization when running video or moving windows. It was advised to report this problem upstream/here. The original report is here: https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=46211. NB: This effect is not seen when running the alternative radeon (ati) driver. Related rpm packages: x11-driver-video-radeonhd-1.2.4-2mdv2009.1 x11-server-1.5.99.3-1.20081222.1mdv2009.1 libmesagl1-7.3-0.20081220.1mdv2009.1 x11-driver-video-ati-6.9.0-4mdv2009.1

Does this issue occur with the preferred ati driver (xf86-vide-ati)? If so, please move this to the Driver/Radeon component. Development of radeonhd has pretty much halted and development focus is on the ati driver. Please see http://www.x.org/wiki/radeonhd If the issue does not exist in the ati driver (or if there is no response to this message), this bug will be closed as WONTFIX unless someone contributes a patch.
Closing due to lack of response. Please reopen and move to the Driver/Radeon component if this issue persists with xf86-video-ati
