Description ash 2009-01-22 08:43:54 UTC
x server gets signal 11 and closes (immediate crash) upon enabling composite effects in kde 4.2 rc

to reproduce : enable effects in kde systemsettings - desktop - effects and click apply

chipset : intel 865G with onboard graphics card (gigabyte GA-8IG1000MK board)

software : arch linux i686 + x.org server 1.5.3 + xf86-video-intel driver 2.4.3 + kde 4.2 rc

glxinfo shows that direct rendering is enabled

other applications that use 3D (tux racer and glxgears) work with reasonable fps - direct rendering seems to work properly

crash happens with opengl but not with xrender. wehn xrender selected in the advanced tab kde says that it won't work and does not crash

the exact same software setup works perfectly on a laptop with intel GMA950 graphics card

Hi,

Freedesktop's Bugzilla instance is EOLed and open bugs are about to be migrated to http://gitlab.freedesktop.org.

To avoid migrating out of date bugs, I am now closing all the bugs that did not see any activity in the past year. If the issue is still happening, please create a new bug in the relevant project at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm (use misc by default).

Sorry about the noise!
