The attachment below has some special characters (x with two dots on top) which
okular didn't show until i installed mtextra.ttf (mathtype font). Although,
okular cannot print this characters and prints instead of two dots, two "&"
over the character. (Okular is the pdf viewer in kde4 that uses poppler).
Printing in ps also does the same.

pdffonts show that the MTExtra font is not embedded. It is not one of the standard 14 fonts (Time,Helevetica,Courier,Symbol) so you will need to install the font to view the PDF. That is not a bug in poppler.

I tried printing the file with okular and pdftops and the x with two dots is printed correctly. Given the age of this bug I assume the problem has been fixed.
