Description Jon Phillips 2004-12-18 23:34:04 UTC
Our project needs write access for a few areas. We use our own wiki (UseModWiki)
and then we have some areas that need the group set to www-data.

What is the best strategy for getting write access for various parts of our site
with the new configuration of the server?

Immediately, we need

/srv/clipart.freedesktop.org/wiki_db/keep/
/srv/clipart.freedesktop.org/wiki_db/page/
/srv/clipart.freedesktop.org/wiki_db/temp/
/srv/clipart.freedesktop.org/wiki_db/user/

to be writable by the user/group of the webserver

Our wiki is here: http://www.openclipart.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl

One can test the read/write by clicking edit the page and then saving the page.

Also, the incoming folder and main library for our clipart needs to be made
writable:

/srv/clipart.freedesktop.org/clipart_web/incoming/

/srv/clipart.freedesktop.org/OpenClipart/

We have a script that saves uploaded SVG files into that folder.

Thanks!
