I've been trying to install various Linux distributions to two different PCs.
Unfortunately the installation always crashes while installing packages
"Xorg-75dpi-fonts" or "Xorg-100dpi-fonts". The problem occurs in all new distros
with "Xorg" instead of "XFree86", including Slackware 10.0, Mandrake 10.0 and
VectorLinux 5.0-SOHO-rc1. This makes installation of VectorLinux impossible and
can render Slackware and Mandrake unusable. I have tried installing with
different kernels.

I have a computer with "AMD Athlon XP 2700+" processor, 512MB RAM, 120GB Hard
disk with a 20GB ext2 partition and 1GB Linux SWAP partition, and "ATI RADEON
9600XT 128MB" graphic card

and another machine with "Pentium II" processor, 256MB RAM, 4GB Hard Disk with
enough free space and a Swap partition, and "RivaTNT 2" graphic card

those are not Xorg package names, so in the absence of further evidence i'm
treating this as a distro problem. please reopen if you can confirm that this
is a problem in the Xorg code and not in your distros' packaging of it.
