I'm having X hangs, more or less at random. Killing X results in wedged hardware and a reboot is necessary.

I'm not using KMS.

System environment:
-- chipset: G45 / ICH10R
-- system architecture: 64-bit
-- Linux distribution: Debian unstable
-- Machine or mobo model: Asus P5Q-EM
-- Display connector: DVI
-- xf86-video-intel: 2.7.99.1
-- xserver: 1.6.1
-- mesa: 7.4.1
-- drm: 2.4.9
-- kernel: 2.6.30-rc4 (debian package)

Backtraces are never useful for GPU hangs.  But intel_gpu_dump output could be very useful.

Adjusting severity: crashes & hangs should be marked critical.
