Hello, I have a similar problem that is described here: http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17805 From time to time, the display goes black for a short while. It is not predictable and occurs roughly once per 5 minutes. I have Asus p5q-vm with G45 chipset with a monitor connected via DVI. KMS not OK with the 2.6.29.4 kernel and xf86-video-intel 2.7.1 It was quite OK regarding this issue with the 2.6.29.3 kernel though. Disabling KMS makes things working again. How can I help to solve this problem? Regards, Matej
http://intellinuxgraphics.org/how_to_report_bug.html asks you to provide Xorg.0.log and dmesg output.
Sorry for the incomplete bugreport. Here are the required specs: Software versions: libdrm 2.4.11, xorg-server 1.6.1.901, xf86-video-intel 2.7.1, kernel 2.6.29.4. Distribution: Up-to-date Archlinux The rest is in the first post. Regards, Matej

I think that the bug 20644 is absolutelly unrelated to this issue. Might it be some sort of a typo?
Created attachment 27067 [details] [review] set FIFO watermarks at DPMS & mode set time Here's a KMS patch to set the FIFO regs. Might help with screen blanking, please give it a try.
I have updated to the 2.6.30 kernel that made it into my distro today nad this issue seems to be resolved since the upgrade. So I even haven't tried your patch... Regards, Matej
