Description Michał Ostrowski 2009-06-19 14:03:22 UTC
Xorg server 1.6.1 crashes on launching any opengl application - for example glxgears. nvidia 96.43.11 driver GeForce4 MX4000 graphics card. latest slackware distro packages from official servers (mirror), kernel 2.6.29.2 from slackware repos (huge version), tested just after system upgrade.

Backtrace:
0: /usr/bin/X(xorg_backtrace+0x3b) [0x812ce6b]
1: /usr/bin/X(xf86SigHandler+0x51) [0x80cc531]
2: [0xffffe400]

Fatal server error:
Caught signal 11. Server aborting

Nothing else in log, Xorg just crashes like this. X starts and it's possible to use any normal not accelerated application, crashes on glxgears, games. Really annoying ;(.

Please fix asap.

I must say that adding nopat to the kernel options doesn't help for me as I've found it helps some people who had problems with 1.6 Xorg and old nvidia card.

not our bug.

Mass closure: This bug has been untouched for more than six years, and is not
obviously still valid. Please reopen this bug or file a new report if you continue to experience issues with current releases.
