Description Simonas 2009-08-06 02:07:56 UTC
xorg-server 1.6.0 worked perfectly for me, i didnt see any issues. But when i upgraded to xorg-server 1.6.1, i started to see problems. When i try o switch from compiz to metacity or vice versa, xorg crashes. Also when i browse sites which have flash on it (like youtube) the scrolling becames very laggy. No matter what browser i am using or what flash version. The same problem exists in both 1.6.2 and 1.6.3. Currently i downgraded to 1.6.0 and everything works, but please fix that problem. I use xf86-video-ati 8.12 open source ati video driver, i have r200 video chip and it is ati radeon 9600 pro 256mb vram and i use exa video acceleration, but xorg crashes when i try to switch to metacity even when i use xaa aceeleration. I use arch linux x86.

your not done with your bug report your missing way too many details (meaning anyone who tries to resolve it must ask you many questions

#1. you compiled and installed ? or used (linux, bsd) distro(which) to upgrade ?

it could well be your package installer tool and not even the package (far being from X's fault)

have to do first things first

-----------------------
X is not built to say "no you cannot run your library it might not be correct" it lets you extend

with that in mind: if your distro compiles or installs X wrong, and old libs are lingering with new: there may be big problems. but not that X did.

Please file a new bug if you still experience issues with 1.20.
