Description Ralph Loader 2005-01-23 11:42:50 UTC
Some mouse cursors are getting corrupted for me, typically appearing as a 64 x
64 pattern of vertical stripes (like a barcode).

Most mouse cursors are OK, it is only a few that are corrupted, e.g., those used
for:

The icon in the URL bar of mozilla firefox.

The drawing area of ggv (gnome's postscript viewer).

This is a MGA G450. Currently running Fedora rawhide:

$ rpm -q xorg-x11
xorg-x11-6.8.1.902-1
$ uname -a
Linux localhost 2.6.10-1.1063_FC4

The bug seems intermittent - sometimes when I reboot the problem disappears,
sometimes it re-appears.

Same bug still appear in xorg-x11-6.8.2-37.FC4.45 on Fedora core 4.
I'm using MGA G400.

With hardware cursor enabled, the X cursor is being displayed about 20 pixels
right of where it should be, and where its actions take effect. Switching to
software cursor fixes this.

Matrox G400 in Pegasos II, Fedora Core rawhide.

Sorry, that was supposed to be a new bug (bug 5105). Ignore me.
Comment 4 Petersen 2006-01-26 23:18:07 UTC
xserver-xorg, 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 "the X.Org X server" for Debian suffers the same.

lspci gives "0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc.
G400/G450 (rev 82)"

Adding <Option     "sw_cursor"> in /etc/X11/xorg.conf doesn't help.

Is this bug still reproducable with the current release of xf86-video-mga?
If so, does it happen with any cursor theme or only with a specific one (which one)?

Can't reproduce it here.
Comment 6 Ralph Loader 2007-01-05 13:57:43 UTC
I no longer have a G450. Anyone else?
Comment 7 Daniel Stone 2007-02-27 01:25:13 UTC
Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.

Do you still experience this issue with newer soft ?
Please check the status of your issue.
Comment 9 Ralph Loader 2013-03-15 18:45:27 UTC
I no longer have this video hardware.

Closing, if anyone else cares and can reproduce the bug, we can reopen it.
