xserver log with chesen PS/2 USB adapter

Hi folks,

I have a Trackman Marble FX PS/2 mouse, connected to my PC using a Chesen USB adapter. Problem: It just gives me 3 mouse buttons. Using PS/2 all 4 buttons work, so it is surely no hardware problem.

Attached you can find the Xorg.?.log files for with and without USB adapter. The USB version says it has found 10 buttons and a scroll whell, but there are just 4, and one doesn't generate any X events. Scroll wheel emulation doesn't work, either. Using PS/2 all 4 buttons work.

Hopefully it is OK to file this bug report for hal. xorg.conf doesn't mention any mouse configuration:

    # xorg.conf (X.Org X Window System server configuration file)
    #
    Section "ServerLayout"
        Identifier "default"
        Option "DontZap" "false"
    EndSection
    Section "Device"
        Identifier "Configured Video Device"
    EndSection

Of course I would be glad to help to track this down.

Regards

Harri
