Created attachment 30894 [details] Graph from wireshare showing Empathy ignoring Asteri Apparently the SIP client in Empathy ignores the fact that it gets a 401 from the Asterisk server, asking it to send real authentication information. I do have the correct user name and password in the SIP account, and all the other information seems to be correct. I'm attaching a graph from wireshark that illustrates the problem, and I'll also attach the source pcap file. telepathy-sofiasip-0.5.18-1.fc12.x86_64 sofia-sip-1.12.10-5.fc12.x86_64

This may be induced by a display name bug that we have found and fixed earlier. Could you try if it works with the current master tree, up to commit 348882349f35477284ef4bbf91271e34d8857f0c? I should push out a release soon.

Yup, using tp-sofiasip from git works with the Fedora Asterisk server. Once you push out a release I'll upload it Fedora (hopefully in time for the F12 release). Thanks!
Assigning to release, when I'm back from being sick.
Fixed in git, will be in 0.5.19
