glxgears' FPS value is down after upgrade mesa-7.6.1_rc2 up to 7.7_rc1 (~1500 FPS -> ~300 FPS)
KDE 4.3.4 with KWin effects, X11 crashes after minimizing/restoring windows.
System console (for exaple, Ctrl+Alt+F1) 'image' after switching looks like an color-vortex disaster

Please attach your full xorg log and the output of:
LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo
It sounds like you aren't getting 3D acceleration.
