Created attachment 31832 [details] Loss of image information when moving out of visible area Our customer is using Igel (http://www.igel.com) thin clients for connecting to a Solaris 10 based graphical Server. These thin clients are running a linux with installed Xorg X11 7.4_server-1.5.2. Backingstore functionality is not working though it is enabled via the Igel configuration utility. Contrary to that we have older Igel thin clients running Xserver 6.8.1 where backingstore is enabled and working. So, I suspect something has changed between the major releases refering to backingstore functionality. The error symptoms are: - loss of image information: when moving a graphical software dialog out of the visible area it looses image information which will not be refreshed unless refresh is forced by user (see screenshot "backingstore1"; area with lost image information is marked on the left and bottom) - empty dialogs: there is a special software dialog which is empty when started with defaults. It is possible to start this dialog with a special argument to not use backingstore (draw in background) which is the only way to see its content. I did some testing with the older thin clients running Xserver 6.8.1. On disabling backingstore it shows the same error symptoms as the new one running version 7.4. The switch to enable or disable backingstore seems to have no function under Xserver 7.4. Hope you have a suggestion.
