Description Milan Bouchet-Valat 2010-01-02 15:07:16 UTC
Created attachment 32412 [details]
Output from intel_gpu_dump, dmesg, Xorg.0.log and GDM's 0:.log

I'm testing the development version 2.9.99.902~git20091222.2c142e42-0ubuntu0sarvatt2~karmic on Ubuntu 9.10, with kernel 2.6.32rc8 (I also reproduced the freeze with 2.6.32, though).

X always ends freezing. Sometimes it happens after a whole day running, but it happens sooner if I play many Flash videos. The precise case for which I'm attaching traces happened when viewing planet.ubuntu.com today (reproduced twice).

A strange detail is that I can't access /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/*i915 even if debugfs is mounted: when I attempt to do so, I'm getting a hard kernel crash, with Alt+SysRq not working. So what you have in the attached archive is output from intel_gpu_dump, dmesg, Xorg.0.log and GDM's 0:.log. Hope that's enough to get some hints!

Oh, and the obvious 'lspci -vnn' one always forgets:
