Created attachment 32412 [details] Output from intel_gpu_dump, dmesg, Xorg.0.log and GDM's 0:.log I'm testing the development version 2.9.99.902~git20091222.2c142e42-0ubuntu0sarvatt2~karmic on Ubuntu 9.10, with kernel 2.6.32rc8 (I also reproduced the freeze with 2.6.32, though). X always ends freezing. Sometimes it happens after a whole day running, but it happens sooner if I play many Flash videos. The precise case for which I'm attaching traces happened when viewing planet.ubuntu.com today (reproduced twice). A strange detail is that I can't access /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/*i915 even if debugfs is mounted: when I attempt to do so, I'm getting a hard kernel crash, with Alt+SysRq not working. So what you have in the attached archive is output from intel_gpu_dump, dmesg, Xorg.0.log and GDM's 0:.log. Hope that's enough to get some hints!
Oh, and the obvious 'lspci -vnn' one always forgets: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller [8086:2592] (rev 03) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Device [1179:ff00] Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 16 Memory at b0080000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512K] I/O ports at 1800 [size=8] Memory at c0000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M] Memory at b0000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256K] Capabilities: <access denied> Kernel driver in use: i915 Kernel modules: i915 00:02.1 Display controller [0380]: Intel Corporation Mobile 915GM/GMS/910GML Express Graphics Controller [8086:2792] (rev 03) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Device [1179:ff00] Flags: fast devsel Memory at 64000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [disabled] [size=512K] Capabilities: <access denied>
