Description Hugo Daniel 2010-01-04 08:10:29 UTC
Hi,

im using X.Org X Server 1.7.3.902 (1.7.4 RC 2)
with radeonhd xf86-video-radeonhd 1.3.0-1
my hardware is an AMD HD4730 with the following lspci -v:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Device 944e (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
Subsystem: Hightech Information System Ltd. Device 3000
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 10
        Memory at d0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M]
        Memory at febf0000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]
        I/O ports at e000 [size=256]
Expansion ROM at febc0000 [disabled] [size=128K]
Capabilities: [50] Power Management version 3
Capabilities: [58] Express Legacy Endpoint, MSI 00
        Capabilities: [a0] MSI: Enable- Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit+
Capabilities: [100] Vendor Specific Information <?>

When X11 boots, the keyboard stops responding, on the screen the image thats displayed on the BIOS when it boots is shown all messed up.

Everything works fine with the option: Option "NoAccel" "True" on xorg.conf

Attached is my Xorg.0.log, i last run it into an error state with verbosity 7, after that i just booted as i usualy do (with the "NoAccel" option), i fear that nothing gets logged about the error because the computer just hangs.

Xorg.0.log

My Xorg.0.log, the error state is not the most recent one, but the one before the most recent.

Does this issue occur with the preferred ati driver (xf86-vide-ati)? If so, please move this to the Driver/Radeon component.

Development of radeonhd has pretty much halted and development focus is on the ati driver. Please see http://www.x.org/wiki/radeonhd

If the issue does not exist in the ati driver (or if there is no response to this message), this bug will be closed as WONTFIX unless someone contributes a patch.

Closing due to lack of response. Please reopen and move to the Driver/Radeon
component if this issue persists with xf86-video-ati
