Description Rafał Miłecki 2010-01-12 08:41:46 UTC
Sometimes when I start OpenArena I can see partly corrupted letters in menu.

This is RV620 and mesa master.

Last time I had to start OpenArena 50 times (I made it in 5 cold boots) to catch it.

In two first pictures you can see that blinking position in menu has some parts that don't blink. For example "P" is blinking all the time in loop, but top part of "E" never changes.

In third picture you can see that problematic parts were not even displayed.

So we have two types of corruptions and type is game-instance-related. If first kind of corruption happens after starting game, it happens for all the other menu positions as well. Some for second type.

Additionally I think using http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~andrem/mesa/log/?h=r600-blit cause corruption to happen more often... Not in 1/50 cases but something like 5% or 10%. But that could be just coincidence.

Note: classic r600 driver has been abandoned.
Please use r600g (gallium driver) instead.

Is this still an issue with a newer driver/kernel?
Comment 7 Andreas Boll 2014-07-07 15:58:49 UTC
The classic r600 driver has been abandoned long ago.
It was replaced by the Gallium driver r600g.

If you have issues with r600g please file a new bug report with component Drivers/Gallium/r600

Thanks.
