Created attachment 33319 [details] Archive containing kernel and Xorg logs and /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/* My environment: - linux-2.6.33-rc8 (+ one local patch to stop disk on reboot) - distro: Gentoo - xorg-server-1.7.4 - xf86-video-intel-9999 (GIT commit 6610bcbac51c9ac970128012f0d4566d8cfba000: DRI2: only use version 4 APIs if kernel support exists) - libdrm-2.4.17 - mesa-7.7-r1 - Acer Travelmate 66x laptop, using LVDS - 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device [8086:3582] (rev 02) 00:02.1 Display controller [0380]: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device [8086:3582] (rev 02) Second time I have wedged GPU in about 1 hour of time, in both cases while reading e-mail with claws-mail (GTK). I'm running with enlightenment as WM (running with software engine instead of render), GTK apps running with render acceleration. When the GPU is wedged background does not redraw anymore and all GTK apps don't redraw anymore but enlightenment is still usable. xterms are only partially usable, e.g. scrolling does not display properly but new text typed is visible.
There's not enough information there -- tar simply does not handle debugfs files well. The presumption is that this is simply another i8xx CPU/GPU coherency issue... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 26345 ***
