It would allow us rescaling masks too, so that we can get rid of drawImageMaskPrescaled() which is buggy, and we could use the rescaler in drawSoftMaskedImage() too. 

GNOME Bug https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=614840 contains a document produced with Scribus that uses drawSoftMaskedImage().
