This was originally files in bugs.maemo.org
https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10006

I have similar reports on Maemo 5 that certain users of The One Ring have hit this issue

Comment 2 Jonny Lamb 2010-06-01 11:12:59 UTC
I followed your instructions and can't reproduce this? Can you confirm this still happens please?
Comment 3 Andre Klapper 2010-06-01 11:43:21 UTC
Still reproducible in Maemo5 2010.21-9:

0. Have an MSN account configured
1. In statusbar: Availability = online
2. Click Settings > VoIP and IM accounts > MSN account
3. Click Enabled
4. Click Save
5. Connect successfully
6. Again: Click Settings > VoIP and IM accounts > MSN account
7. uncheck "enable"
8. press "save"
9. you will be asked for reconnect. press "no"
10. Click MSN account again in the list of accounts
11. Click "Advanced settings" of msn account

I have been trying to get Microsoft Office Communicator functioning properly and been having a similar problem with my settings.

My experiences are like this:
1. Define a new MS OCS/LCS account
2. sign in with it and it works nicely
3. disable the account and click save
4. you will be asked for the reconnect
5a. if you choose yes, the advanced settings are emptied
5b. if you choose no, the advanced settings input boxes are missing as well

I noticed also that if you put the OCS account offline without disabling it, you end up also with an advanced settings without input boxes but the settings still are there as your account still works.

Anything new happening with this issue? We have quite a bit of users getting annoyed at having issues with OCS accounts when they enable/disable/modify OCS availability.
Comment 8 Benedict 2010-08-25 04:36:24 UTC
Problem still reproducable in v. 10.2010.19-1

EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM:

1. choose an internet connection
2. set availability of MSN and AOL account to "online"
3. wait till accounts connect
4. goto status bar > availability > accounts > msn account > uncheck "enable"
5. press "save"
6. you will be asked for reconnect. press or "no"
7. goto status bar > availability > accounts > msn account > advanced settings and check port (leave this screen open for the next step)

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
port number should stay by default "1863"

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
port number disappears and is left empty

---

Now do the following - still at step (7) -

EXACT STEPS LEADING TO PROBLEM:

1. exit advanced msn settings screen by tapping top of screen (do not press "done")
2. goto > advanced settings again
3. check port
4. exit account settings of msn by tapping top of the screen (do not press "save")
5. (you should be back in "VoIP- and Chat accounts overview) goto > msn account
7. goto advanced settings of msn account
8. check port
9. you can repeat step 1-8

EXPECTED OUTCOME:
port number should stay by default "1863"

ACTUAL OUTCOME:
port number changes in step 3 and step 8 between blank/empty and -2147483648

OTHER COMMENTS:
happy coding!
