Description Bob Gleitsmann 2010-06-09 19:15:17 UTC
Similar but not identical to 28424. No stack trace in Xorg.0.log. The following appears in kdm.log:
Xorg: pixmap.c:118: AllocatePixmap: Assertion `pScreen->totalPixmapSize > 0' failed.
I wanted to seek expert guidance before launching into git bisect. I don't really know enough about Xorg to keep from wasting a lot of time. Up to commit 7ef612de784daaed09ba13f4615c10714614033f works fine.
I have implemented make clean before make for each update from git. I also rebuild the drivers in the same way. This is from past experience with bad builds after git pulls. Unfortunately this eats up a lot of time. Let me know if you want more information or need specific things tested. I am using the nouveau driver, up-to-date with git repo. Last time I checked, that is.

Best Wishes,

Bob Gleitsmann

Son of a gun! There's a new commit for the nouveau driver. I will cancel this one if all goes well.
