altgr+e mapped with euro sign in lithuanian xkb keymap
I just checked - in xorg 6.8.1 e is mapped as: key <AD03> { [ e, E, emacron, Emacron ] }; Do you want it to be changed to Euro on both 3rd and 4th level?
It is already achieved by adding '-option eurosign:e', so is it a good idea to change altgr+e by defaukt?
Denis, actually, I agree - just using this option is enough - but probably this Emacron symbol is completely irrelevant - so we could replace it with Euro. So, let's see what the reporter says...
No update for more than half a year, closing it
Why you closed this bug as invalid ? It still exists in Xorg version 6.8 (xkeyboard-config version 0.6) from latest Ubuntu version.
Well, I just closed it becase there was not feedback. So could you please comment - why adding an option eurosign:e is not appropriate? Or is emacron absolutely obsolete at this places?
Given that Lithuania is a EU member state I don't see how you can seriously keep the Euro symbol optional. Is it somewhere else on the layout ? (just passing)
I do not have problem adding euro to any layout - I just want to ensure there will be minimal frustration from the people which used to have different symbol on that place. Currently, someone is probably using this emicron symbol - so I am trying to realize, which symbol should be there, which symbol is physically engraved on keyboards (when people buy them in shops) etc.
emicron symbol is used in very special cases, mostly by language specialists in special literature. Usualy, euro sign is physically engraved on keyboards (when people buy them in shops).
(In reply to comment #9) > emicron symbol is used in very special cases, mostly by language specialists in > special literature. > Usualy, euro sign is physically engraved on keyboards (when people buy them in > shops). Ok, It answers my question. Now I looked into our CVS (http://cvs.freedesktop.org/xlibs/xkbdesc/symbols/lt?rev=1.8&view=markup) - and see the Euro sign in place! So, I think it should make this bug closed, shouldn't it?
