Since several months, when I'm typing, shift key activates itself randomly and keeps activated for 30 or 60 seconds. And I cannot deactivate it until this time and it deativates by itself. Very annoying. This bug has been reported many times there: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=97383 As we can see, this weird behaviour hits different systems (Debian, Ubuntu, ArchLinux) and different desktops environments (Gnome, KDE), but there are common points: — X.org system, and in console mode there is no problem — a Pinnacle PC TV card Despite of its randomness, this problem is reproductable: type text in any software, and let the time act… shift hang (I can continue typing but like if I hold the shift-key down all the time)… wait until shift deactivate itself… continue typing. (this shift-problem has raised 5 times during this post-writing) Maybe related… Since few days, roughly frequently, focus on the foreground application is lost: it does not receive text input, nor shortcuts, and I must switch to another application and switch back to my application to get focus again. (this raised about 10 times during this post-writing)
I confirm all of this except I'm using IA32 (switch to "all" platforms?) and a Hauppage TV-Card (bttv driver). Personally I think the importance is "high" since usage is incredibly annoying when using the keyboard a lot.
I confirm this for IA32 PLUS AMD64 platforms. TV cards used: Pinnacle PCTV, CRYPTO PC TV RADIO WOS II(?) PCI- TV tuner, and a RCA to USB adapter for which I can't remember its name.
Mass closure: This bug has been untouched for more than six years, and is not obviously still valid. Please reopen this bug or file a new report if you continue to experience issues with current releases.
